The home town of Magisso and the capital of Finland – Helsinki – will be the World Design Capital of the year 2012. This was the third time that the World Design Capital has been elected by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID). Helsinki and Eindhoven from Holland was chosen to the final round from among 46 cities that participated in the competition. The first World Design Capital was Turin in 2008, and before Helsinki, Seoul in South Korea will have the privilege to act as WDC in 2010.
