Maria Kivijärvi

The idea for the Magisso Cake Server came to Maria’s mind while sitting and drawing on lake Näsijärvi rocks on a sunny day. The same lake rocks are still her favorite “office”.

– Eventhough functional and innovative designing has recently been a trend in kitchen utensils and tableware, the basic idea of a cake server hasn’t changed. I started deliberately to search a completely new functionality and appearance for the cake server, Maria describes.

Miika Mansikkamaa

The first patented Magisso product – the Magnetic Kitchen Cloth Holder – was invented in 2006 by the CEO of Magisso Ltd. Miika Mansikkamaa.

Miika Mansikkamaa – a home decoration enthusiast – hated the fact that he was using his design faucet as a kitchen cloth holder. Furthermore, the cloth was always in the way or simply nowhere to be found, when you would need it.

The idea of using two magnets came up to Miika Mansikkamaa, when he was performing the good old party trick of moving a matchbox on the table without touching it. Then he realized, that this was the way to do it.

Vesa jääskö

Vesa Jääskö – the designer of the Magisso Teacup – has designed everything from mobile phones to bicycles and from industrial instruments to kitchen tools.
In 2006 he founded the design company Vesavisio Oy.
– I am inspired by the yet unsolved problems in the ever-changing human environment. Sound design is always a mixture of insight and surprise that make the new product meaningful for the user.

Laura Bougdanos

The creator of Magisso Teacup Laura Bougdanos re-invents and designs household items with an eye to reduce the complexities of every day tasks. As a mother of three, Laura believes that everyone should take a moment for themselves from their hectic schedules to enjoy the simple pleasures of life such as a perfect cup of tea. Laura draws from her motto "simplicity, functionality and beauty" when conceptualizing new innovations. After a messy battle with a tea bag during an important meeting, the idea of a new way to enjoy tea was born.
Born in Finland, and influenced from her worldwide travel adventures, Laura founded TipCup Oy in 2010 to continue "to make the ordinary... extraordinary”.
